Idols - History, Definition and Information
There
are literally hundreds of AV Idols featured on the Internet, on
Video and DVDs. In our pages we will feature a few of the more memorable
models in the AV realm. We have been busy searching for information
to pass on to our visitors. Hopefully these pages will combine pleasant
visuals with interesting facts, an occassional interview and of
course pictures for your enjoyment. When we are able we will provide
links to other interesting areas to see and learn more about your
favorite AV Idol. In
addition to the Idols, we will feature Ladies in the Race Queen
category, and Asian adult performers.
.
"AV"
is an abbreviation for Adult Video or in the cases here, Japanese
adult video. This booming industry features venues from amateur
through Scat, Bondage and even mature or Madam Videos.
AV
has grown greatly in Japan. They may have very strict obsenity laws
as Boby of the PGF series discovered, but they are by far the most
permissive people of the Asian world. Part of this growth is the
increasing fascination by Western countries in the demure and dainty
stature of Asian women.

Censorship
in Japan does have its costs in AV. Most have a mosiac pattern superimposed
to hide the sexual union and organs from view. However, there are
some available, but difficult to find. According to Banana Boy of
http://member.newsguy.com these
are defined as uncensored (or "ura"). Visit his site to learn more
about AV productions and availability.
Most
AV girls are 18 to 21 in age. Most are recruited off the streets.
Some do all and some don't. We will be adding these details to each
Idols pages.
Lastly,
I am sure you have all noticed that the model's profile pages always
have their blood type listed. Why you ask? Here's a quote from Banana
Man:
"Most
people have likened the Japanese interest in blood types to the
American obsession with astrology. The argument for this is that
a person's blood should have more direct influence on him/her
than the alignment of the stars and planets. Unfortunately, having
only four different blood types to work with makes for some very
broad statements about these groups.
Type A - Calm, serious, hardworking, finicky, not emotional.
Type B - Curious, aloof, excitable, cheerful, unpredictable.
Type O - Charismatic, decisive, generous, authoritarian.
Type AB - Delicate, cautious, strict, sentimental.
This superstition is completely Japanese in origin having been
set off by Furukawa Takeji's article "The Study of Temperament
Through Blood Type" published in 1927. Despite the fact that his
credentials and research were dubious at best and the work of
supporters and skeptics over three-quarters of a century, Takeji's
conclusions still form the basis of modern Japan's belief in blood
as a determining factor towards character."
